Forge Motorsport offers a high-performance cold air intake system for the Hyundai i30N, Kona N, and Veloster N, designed to significantly improve airflow to the engine. The system uses a large 102 mm CNC mandrel-bent alloy pipe and replaces the restrictive stock air filter with a high-flow, efficient filter. The cold air intake is designed to deliver cooler air into the engine, enhancing performance and throttle response.
The pipe diameters have been carefully tuned to provide the optimal amount of air for consistent power gains across the rev range without losing low-end torque. The piping is engineered to feed the turbo smoothly, improving induction sound during acceleration and enhancing the driving experience of the 2.0 four-cylinder engine.
Filtration is key, so Forge Motorsport worked with long-term partner Pipercross, which recommended a multi-layer foam filter, perfectly suited for the Hi-Flow range. The large filter allows 60 % more airflow than the stock filter, with replacement filters available. The system is finished in a unique black thermal powder coating and comes with a detailed installation guide.
On a stock Hyundai i30N with 275 HP and 278 lb.ft, the intake achieved 296 HP and 310 lb.ft on the dyno.
Testing showed that at real-world speeds up to 70 mph, intake and pipe temperatures did not rise, remaining steady at 30 °C even after four hard runs, so a heat shield is not required.
